Our Story

                                                     𐂯

Hi! We are Piper and Meeka, middle school and high school sisters who have been deeply passionate about helping stray dogs in Thailand from a young age. As children, we always loved to share our food and treats with the stray dogs we met on the road, and we would often buy food and water from street vendors to give to the dogs. During our last trip to Chumphon, Thailand, in 2023, a tiny white puppy and its mother captured our hearts.  Every day, while driving along the countryside, we saw the mother dog side by side with her tiny pup.

On our final day in Chumphon, as we were rushing to the airport, we saw the mother in utter despair on the side of the road. Horrified, we discovered that a car had fatally struck her baby, leaving him dead on the roadside. Due to the lack of organizations around these rural areas dedicated to helping dogs, we felt devastated and powerless. However, this tragedy became the catalyst for our mission.

Through our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Thai Tails,  we are dedicated to helping stray dogs in rural Thailand.  In partnership with the Department of Animal Production Technology, we are focused on funding sterilizations to help reduce and control the population of stray, abandoned, and lost dogs.  In addition, we fund vaccinations and essential medical care and services for sick or injured dogs.  The goal is to prevent unnecessary suffering and to ensure these animals enjoy a happy, healthy, and safe life.
